Stamp Zia's Large Koi and Zia Words: koi, water and color

  • Zia's Color Wash Jewels - Emerald, Blue Topaz and Tanzanite
  • 8"x5" water color paper and glossy black cardstock
  • silk or plastic foliage for masking
  • Gelly Roll® Glaze pens
  • Zia's specialty fibers
  • Glossy Accents Dimensional Embellishment by Ranger
  • Document black ink pad
  • bleach and small paint brush
  • Glitter
  • Heat gun

Technique:

1. Use the water color technique of masking areas of water
color paper with paper towels and spritzing blue topaz, tanzanite, and emerald water colors. Dry with heat gun. Spritz again, this time masking with the silk or plastic foliage (ferns, bamboo stems, etc.)

2. Dry with heat gun. Tear into smaller pieces, some long and some more rounded.

3. Overlap about 12 rounded pieces together randomly and tape them together from behind.

4. Stamp large koi with document ink on front of taped pieces. Stamp word stamps around large koi image at random. Use small brush dipped in bleach and remove water color from fish. Dry with heat gun.

5. Color koi with glaze gel pens. Use Glossy Accents
dimensional embellishment to cover the koi image entirely. It may take two coats. Let dry thoroughly. Add glitter to torn edges.

6. Adhere koi collaged piece to center of 8"x5" black glossy cardstock. Adhere long torn pieces of water color paper around the koi.

7. Embellish with glitter and Zia's colored fibers.
