Spatters and Splatters Matter!
The trick to get this gorgeous
water spatter look is to "throw" the water down (using
a brush or your wet fingers!) while the paper surface is wet
with paint. After the paint dries a bit, just blot off the water
with a paper towel to reveal a lighter color underneath the water
painted area!
The water lifts and lightens the color underneath it.
Try adding a Color Wash Jewel or Ultra
Color Wash Jewel over your painted paper surface and throw/spatter
more water using a brush and flicking your wrist. Adding multiple
layers of water paints and water splatters with drying in-between
can create a depth of color and texture you will love!.
Mono printing
Pour or spray your HOT Jewels onto
a non-porous surface (glass table top or smooth counter surface
both work well) without 'mixing' up the colors. Press your watercolor
paper or heavy card stock into the paint surface. Pick up the
paper and dry with a heat gun. Place the paper down again into
the painted surface making sure you have turned your paper in
a different direction in order to allow other colors to layer
over the original colors. You can repeat this mono printing technique
as long as you dry in-between each "print". Work on
either a number of card sized pieces of paper or play with a
larger piece double your output!
Wet on Wet!
Spray or paint the paper surface
with water. Using a brush apply a Hot
Jewel color , lift and tilt the paper to run the paint color
on the paper. Repeat this technique using a different color that
is placed either next to the previous color or over it.
Details!
Paint details using the paint directly
from the bottle with a brush.
Mix it up!
Try "mixing" directly
on the paper surface by spraying a Hot Jewel over a Color Wash
or Ultra Color Wash Jewel.
Create a background using the HOT Jewels
and dry. Spray over any stencil materials or shapes with Color
Wash or Ultra Color Wash Jewels to "mix up" your techniques.
